Building Vault Fill Program

The Ann Arbor DDA Building Vault Grant Program provides grant dollars to property owners within the DDA footprint that wish to fill their vaults to help cover the cost of fill and sidewalk restoration.

• Vault structural condition assessment (if a vault is to remain)
• Vault abandonment detail (if a vault is abandoned/filled)
• Example of building permit

The City Building Department permits and reviews all vault changes associated with the private building and structural integrity. They are a great resource and may be willing to meet with property owners to walk through building vaults and provide guidance on the process.
